Nothing to see here (22.2.2012)
Yep, album is ready and will be released at 9.3.2012. So we won't be updating this blog anymore, happy to say that! So instead check out the main blog to read about things happening right now >>

Yess! (15.12.2011)
We have sent every instrument-file for Janne Tolsa for mixing! This means I have nothing more to do, nice. Next we'll wait for Toni to record the last song (which is actually the opening track on the album) "Waiting for the rain". Toni promised to have it ready until sunday and JT promised to mix it at the beginning of next week. We will go to the studio for the final listening session at wednesday. There we'll make the last changes. So, it looks like we'll have a studio-free christmas and new year :) I'm dreaming about a new year's party with a completely ready album and album covers, it looks like it will happen, high hopes!!

Sick bastard... (8.12.2011)
The release-schedule of our album has been postponed quite a lot because of the fact that Toni had this really long flue which has been raging in Finland and was not able to record the rest of the songs. So it seems that we will release it on March 2012.
Now the recordings are back on track. Yesterday we sent the coversong into mixing. Can't wait to hear the final result! After that we have only one more song to finalize. There's only vocals missing, let's hope Toni stays healthy at least for a while more!
Some force is against us... (29.8.2011)
Argh...my mac got broken yesterday! It won't start and it holds all the projectfiles of our album.
Luckily I have backups from the situation one week before but the work of installing everything again and getting the environment right is not tempting at all...I sent it to Mac-support in Helsinki. Should come back quite soon if it is still fixable.
Well we got the single song ready so this won't affect to it's release..but still..ARGH!

When nothing works at all.. (12.8.2011)
Yes, certailny one of those days. It was so goddamn difficult to get anything working when me and Toni got together and went to record the missing couple of vocal lines to our upcoming single (will be out before october). Once more we forgot our headphones, this is more of an habit than an exception nowadays. After seatching for different adapters and plugs and considering to get out and go for a beer, we finally got somekind of set working properly. Then we realised we dont have popfilter because, once again, I forgot it to my flat, argh.. well here's what we worked out:

Because of our creative plug-adapter-cable-headphone-hassle we had to squeeze in about 1 squaremeter area and record the song.
Well after that we really had to reward ourselves with some real superfood:

Back to the studio!

Guitar- & drumrecordings (6.8.2011)
This week we got two songs' drums and guitars recorded. Both still needs bass and other needs the vocals.
One of those songs will have some visitors from another band (won't reveal just yet who they are). We also crated one new song for the record this week, it will be an opening track in our album.
Here's a short clip from yesterday's guitar recordings (17M)
Ah, by the way; we will soon release the first single song, so stay tuned!
More songs finalized (15.7.2011)
Always nice to have something ready. We just sent two more songs to mixing. One is Red Rivers and the other one is album's most electronic piece. Will be interesting to hear the result soon!
One more song going to mixing this week, it is our single song which we'll release before the actual album. We just have to choose some vocal lines to it, it'll be ready today I think.
Still four-five more songs to go...

Who needs the sleep anyway? (26.6.2011)
Damn, it's been three months since the last blog-entry? Where's this time going?
Last night I got one more song's ("Red Rivers") synths ready. At monday we'll finish some guitar riffs and then it's up for mixing. Will be interesting to hear how the result will sound like after Janne Tolsa's processing because
this song is quite "full of things" and is actually meant to be a bit messy, but should still sound cool and clear, that's some challenge for the process! I decided to drop some synth lines so that we can emphasize the quitar riffs more in some parts. The rest of the synths sound great at least at 3 o'clock am!
Here's a making-of-picture from one of the studio-locations, in other words my flat!

Next week: some quick adds for guitar, drum recording for one or two songs, Toni's vocal parts for two songs and also some female vocal recordings. And yes, of course I'll be messing around with some more synths.

ps. I'll also update our basic blog soon, so check it out if you want to hear some more.
Small dicks and great souls (12.-14.3.2011)
What a weekend. These weeks I've been blessed (or cursed) to have
a change to visit in Kuopio more often than usually, due to our second album recordings and up coming gigs.
We had quite a tight time schedule this weekend because of members "secondary life" (including work, family, etc. equal bull shit) ;P
We had band rehearsals on saturday night and early in Sunday morning we bravely left our warm beds and headed to the bunker despite of perfect sunny day... sometimes choices are really difficult to make, to chill or not to chill, this time we chose correctly I assume.
We started at 11 am and our session was over just before midnight, so we were inside of our secret bunker approximately 12 hours, huh! OK, we went out once, but just for quick lunch break.
Sometimes things just go successfully and so did they this time. Now we have three beautiful "babies" in our hard disk, ready for mixing.
Im really pleased to them, really.
I have to say that Im also really tired, just slept like 4 hours before popping up for a train at 5 am.
I also documented the glory hole where we use to work, check out the pics! >>
Feast of the weekend is over & out!
